Gosh, I love the holidays.

Get ready to be bombarded with pictures, telling you about how much I love them.
For Thanksgiving, 50 of my family members surprised my mom and wore pink, in support of her and in support of breast cancer.
I made a cast of my mom to give to her for Christmas.. I painted two red cardinals on it because two cardinals landed on my aunt's car while she was praying that my grandma's PET scan would come back clear, and it did. Then two cardinals landed on my mom's car while she was waiting to see if her PET scan came back clear, and it did.
My dad, sister, and I at Christmas
Joe, mom, Kylee, Danny and I Christmas Eve morning.

Danny and I opening our gifts from each other Christmas night. Our 2nd beingmarriedchristmas :)
I got him a little piano, but he already knew about that. So I surprised him with a vintage t and Tolkien calendar..
He had already given me my button maker too (which is so freaking awesome).. and he got me this support local art hoodie I've been wanting so stinking bad.
I made us a countdown full of Christmas activities for every day... :)

We decorated Christmas paper.. (he did most of it, like the one above)
Made sugar cookies.
Went stargazing. (Which worked out perfectly because there was a huge meteor shower)
And made paper snowflakes for the apt

EVEN though Danny has been puking his guts up for the past 24 hours.
EVEN though we've been so busy we can hardly think straight.
EVEN though we had to make a 2 hour car drive on no sleep and almost died.

..it's been a really great Christmas :)
I'm thankful for a big long break from school.
Thankful for time spent with family and friends.

Halloween

I kind of love it. My mom always got really into it, so I guess it rubbed off on me.. I can't wait to have a house to decorate for the trick-or-treaters. I'm going to put a graveyard in the front yard and have someone sit on my porch to scare them (so what if I'm just stealing last week's episode of Modern Family? It's what I want).
Danny and I were a washer and dryer this year for the Gamma pumpkin carving party... and won best costumes! Who would've thought a box and some socks would turn out so cool?
It was a ton of fun. (And I was so proud of Danny for making his own)

I have been SWAMPED these past few weeks. I don't know if I'm just trying harder this semester or what, but I've had to pull way too many all nighters lately. (Partly because I had to spend most of my time painting this bad boy).
Plus side to staying up all night: it makes for a MUCH more entertaining day of school the next day.

Kirby's Epic Yarn

Imagine a world made from art and crafts supplies.. rolling hills of buttons, dragons made of yarn, fabric skies that unzip to another galaxy..
Well, that world has come into reality. In the form of Kirby's Epic Yarn.
This will be the first video game I've wanted for myself in 10 years (the last one being Donkey Kong 64). It's at the top of my Christmas list (hint hint, mom :)

I am seriously SO excited about playing this game. Not only is it BEAUTIFUL but it's supposedly easy to play and impossible to die.. perfect for me! Plus, I'm just going to throw this out there, I think it will inspire me and make me a better artist.. Atleast that's what I'll tell my teachers when my projects aren't finished because I spent all night "gaming".

Falling like the leaves.

Fall break is here, and I am welcoming it with open arms.
I've been on break for approximately 12 hours, and so far I've: taken a 5 hour nap, baked cupcakes, watch the Babies documentary, caught up on Glee, and started on my next illustration project.. If I keep going at this rate, I'll get so much done this week!

Last weekend we took a quick road trip to Austin with some friends.

It's such a cool city.. full of "trailer parks" like the one above, awesome galleries, live music, and bright colors.
Let me take a minute to tell you about the mighty cone. This is a taco with fried chicken, fried avocado, and slaw.. all wrapped in a tortilla and stuffed in a cone. Who thought of that? It's a genius idea that ensures I'm going to pick the mighty cone over some average joe taco stand.
Also, I've been really into making pumpkin spice lattes lately.. now if only we could get some consistently cooler weather I'd be happy.

Too tired.

Too tired to think of a title.
Too tired to get off this couch and go to bed.
Too tired to write about anything pretty much.

I will say, today was an awesome day because Danny and I got to go to coffee slingers this morning before class. It makes my day better when I start it off with a latte, I swear.

This is my second illustration project:
World Record: A man lifted a 140 lb. girl with his beard.

So yeah, still loving that class. So much fun.
Plans for this weekend include watching poorly made movies (seriously thats my homework, once again being an art major is awesome), cleaning, and hopefully doing a whole lot of sleeping.
Night, all.

Perks of being at art major.

Well, there are many. But the one I'm talking about in particular is the ability to watch tv while I'm working on my homework. How else would I be able to keep up with my never ending list of shows?

1. Gossip Girl
2. Glee
3. Survivor
4. Modern Family
5. Project Runway
6. The Office
7. Community
8. Dexter
(Listed in sequential order, of course)

And then I have all the random shows I watch when none of my regulars are on..
Real Housewives
America's Next Top Model
Cake Boss
LA Ink
Various Disney shows (yes, still)
According to Jim
That 70's Show reruns
.. dare I go on?

I figured I'd just write them all out so everyone can see how big of an addict I am, also probably so I can keep track of them myself :)

I'll leave you with my precious chub of a cousin:

In a different world.

As I was zoning out in class the other day, I thought about what my life would be like if it were the complete opposite of what it is now. Mainly I started thinking about what if I did all the things I hate/ dont do but wish I did.
It cracked me up so I thought I'd share my fictional morning routine:

I wake up promptly at 6:00 am when my alarm goes off (the first time) and slip into my running shoes. I make my way into the kitchen, pour myself some soy milk, and sit at the kitchen table to plan out my day. After some light stretching I grab my Ipod, put on some classic rock, and head out the door for my 5 mile run (as I'm jogging around campus I think about how much I love morning time.. I love getting up while the rest of the world is still asleep). I come home to take a shower and get ready, and what do I find? Danny sleeping in, skipping his classes again (he's always being lazy like that). After I literally drag him out of bed and make him go to class, I head out to my favorite class of the day: Calc II.

HA! So that's my morning, maybe I'll share my afternoon sometime.

Haven't really had time to blog or think about anything other than school for the past few weeks. This is one of many things I've been working on:
It's my first illustration for my illustration class. Which, by the way, I am loving so much.

PS- This post is dedicated to my mom (since apparently you read my blog now :)

Our wedding. Recap.

One year ago today I married my high school sweetheart and best friend.. I would venture to say it's been the best year of my life, and I can't wait for the rest.
(Warning: this post contains a million pictures.. I could post about a million more, but I'll spare you this time)

Waiting.
My sweet dad.

Bawling my eyes out during Danny's song.

It was so windy.. can you tell?
21 bridesmaids+groomsmen

My aunt made ALL 350 cupcakes, plus our awesome cake on top.
Also, my sister in law made this hobbit inspired rice krispie grooms cake.

It was such a perfect day.. Sometimes it doesn't seem real when I think about how awesome it was. We had so much help and support from our friends and family, and we were surrounded by so much love.. we couldn't have asked for anything more!

I leave you, ladies and gents, with the gummy worm song.

Necklaces.

I sold a few of my tshirt necklaces to some friends, so I thought I'd post a few on Etsy and see how they do.
I needed someone with a really good neck to model so I had my sister over for a little mini photo shoot.. just as I thought, her neck worked perfectly..hah

You can find them here

Birthday Boy.

Tomorrow is Danny's 21st birthday! My family always makes a big deal about birthdays.. so I'm excited to make breakfast and spoil him.
I thought that since it's his birthday and all, you guys wouldn't care if I write a girly post about how great my husband is :)
He's just the kindest, sweetest person I know.. He loves his friends (so much that he wants to name all of our kids after them..) and I love him for that.
He's creative and has a bigger imagination than I could ever ask for.. He's taught me about good music and I love it that half of our apartment is full of his instruments (even if you've seen me roll my eyes or yell when I trip over one, I really do love it).
Over time we've developed similar interests. I think I've picked up some of his weird habits (like talking in different voices and pointing at people when I'm exciting about something.. some of you probably know what I'm talking about..)
It's hard to remember a time when he wasn't my best friend.. love you so much, Happy Birthday!
[end of cheesy, mushy post]

Marietta, OK

So on our way to a friend's wedding last weekend, we left a little early so that we could stop at some random town and hoped to find something interesting
We found ourselves in good ole Marietta, OK.
Made our way down main street..
Did a little shopping.

Went to the cutest antique shop.
And got ourselves a sno cone. (They gave us free peach o's just because we ordered peaches and creme.. how nice is that?)
So now I can officially check number 17 off my list! Marietta, OK.. you've been explored, and I liked you.

(I'm just really glad I have this weirdo to keep me entertained on long trips.)
